New Spit-Toons strip up on the site.
News about Onsmith's comics, illustrations, doodles, and other noteworthy items.
The "Year In Review" comics issue of The Chicago Reader came out with strips by me, Ivan Brunetti, John Hankiewicz, Lilli Carre, Jeffrey Brown, and others. Below is a sample from the strip I did called, "Holy Warp".
You can read the full strip on my site here.
There's literally hundreds of drawings to see at the Shoboshobo site. They're what looks to be a French collective of artists influenced by the sort of artwork you'd see made by the guys in Paperrad, Fort Thunder, and various flat Japanese graphics.
John Hankiewicz (of the comic, "Tepid") mentioned to me that he'll have some of his fantastic etchings at a print/ceramics sale show at The College of Dupage just outside of Chicago. If you're in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by and check it out. Here's the info on the print/ceramics sale:
I came across Christian Northeast's site recently and I swore I had seen his work before. Sure enough, looking through his portfolio, I saw his contributions (which include comics) to the Fantagraphics anthology, Blab! I don't need to go on about how cool his work is, so instead, just go to his site. His illustration work has not only appeared in Blab!, but also in Rolling Stone, Time, Entertainment Weekly, GQ Magazine, Forbes Magazine (example below) and other high-falootin' publications.

Ivan Bruentti has a blog of his doodles that's really quite inspiring and neat to look at. You get a sense of his character design, notes to himself, and the general sense that the guy just compulsively doodles. He comes back to the blog now and again with a new batch so check it out once in a while. Ivan also tells me he'll have a limited doodle collection in small boxes soon, so get ahold of him once he announces it's finished.
Fellow cartoonist and pal, Chris Cilla, has been a favorite of mine for quite some time and had some gags in the anthology I put together, "Gag-Hag". He's been in the mini-comics scene for a while now and I hear he'll be appearing in an upcoming "Kramer's Ergot" - that fancy art/comics book that's made everyone and their dog cream their pants. Chris also makes screen-prints (and is quite good at it too); above is a screen-print of his. Go to his site and check out some more of his comics and artwork (I dig the covers for comics that don't yet exist - like the one below). Go and buy some of his mini comics at either USS Catastrophe or Poopsheet.
Here's a gag I wrote when I was working as a temp in a bank. It was published in my mini, "Spit-Toons #1" (which I'm selling in the Shop). My job was to pull staples out of large volumes of stock info print-outs and then run them all through a document scanner and to then staple them again and file. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time doodling and writing down contemptuous stuff about office work in a journal I kept. Here's a list (though really dumb, I figured hell, why not post it?) that I wrote when I was working there:
It's a little late at night, but I wanted mention that I came across Benjamin Marra's illustration portfolio - which blew me away! Some of the drawings are in a bound book of graph paper done with inks and colored pencils incorporating comics characters, pulp styles, and pop culture in a surreal way. Check out his stuff fer sher!
New doodle in the Doodles section. This character is also a "MySpace " user. Check out his rampin' here.
