Was it required that you be able to guess the ism outright with no exposition? I might not have made the connection for logicism or absurdism.
I need to start incorporating such exercises into my free time. I tend to do more apparel illustration than anything, so the ideas I'm called upon to capture tend to be more superficial and less cerebral.
Where are you going to school if you don't mind my asking? I live in rural Illinois (I grew up on 37th and Kedzie, but moved out to the sticks at around 15). There's no art community here, and I find myself wanting to connect more with like minded people.
Ray - Thanks for your comments. We were to make some parallels between the different "ism's" and yes, they were to work with the titles included. But hey, it's the instructor's idea, not mine. Oh, and I go to Columbia here in Chicago.
Very cool. How's the experience been so far?
It's been pretty good so far. I'm being challenged in new ways and doing artsy things I haven't done in years. Best part is some of the instructors are very cool and have already helped me on some things outside of school.
