Paying Tribute to Woody Guthrie's Dust Bowl...

This is a drawing (click for larger version) in tribute to Woody Guthrie's "Dust Bowl Ballads." I did it with India ink and colored pencils. It was just something new that I hadn't tried before (compositionally and technically).

It has a "painterly" feeling; I like it!

It would translate well to woodcut.

Thanks, everyone! I need to get around to making a linoleum cut or woodcut print at some point, actually.

Negative space is a great thing! Love the black. I'm gonna go draw now. And take screenprint offset classes soon....

Good to hear from you, Henry! Thanks for checking out my stuff. I often look at your blog - some very cool drawings on there. I can see how screen-printing would lend itself to your recent drawings.
