A couple of painted doodles...

Here's a couple more of my geometric guys painted with ink over them. (You can click either one for larger versions.)

I'm gonna come off sounding like an ignorant fool, but ink holds up on top of paint?? It's acrylic, I'm assuming. I've only dabbled in painting, and my biggest frustration has been getting an acrylic line to not be chunky (adding various thinning mediums tends to help).

Yeah, it's a frustration of mine too - that's why I decided to try ink out. The ink takes a little while to dry on top of the paint, but it certainly adheres to it.

Hey, I like the 3 modular guys, will there be some prints, etc. for sale?

Like the piece. I'm curious - is this India ink or Acrylic ink. Anything on which would be better in the long run?

Thanks George! I'll be working on either a linocut or stencil in the near future with some designs similar to those modular guys. I'll post something about it once I get a set going.

The top one on chipboard is india ink with a brush and the bottom orange one is actually a sharpie marker. So far, so good with both the india ink and the sharpies...

i don't know much about ink on paint (in fact googleing to know more about it is what brought me to this blog entry) - but, i've seen sharpie fade to brown pretty badly over acrylics. i've also seen it staying quite alright. just thought i'd share some knowledge. nice work.

Thanks Lok. I typically use india ink over the paint and I haven't had a problem thus far. But I think you're right about the sharpie ink - I've used it on a couple of things and then touched them up later and they seemed to be okay.
